Operation Opera is a 5-day educational and performance-based programme for ages 12 - 17 where participants have the opportunity to learn about the many and varied aspects of composing, staging, and performing an opera.

The week culminates in the performance of an adapted version of Mozart’s opera, Bastien and Bastienne, with workshops led by professional practitioners based in Hong Kong set to a level appropriate to the abilities of teens.

In addition to regular rehearsals, workshops include:

• A singing lesson

• Partner Dance

• Meet a professional opera singer

• Commedia dell’arte

• Dance, costume and set construction

• Makeup design

All students are welcome regardless of their level of musical training.

Operation Opera can be tailored to suit the capabilities of a facility and/or the participants.
