About the Workshops
This Workshop will focus on three main topics: Distancing, Holding and Positioning the mic.  We will also discuss the different kinds of microphones and their capabilities as well as the importance of good diction to avoid pops and hisses on the mic.  Each workshop will have min. 4 and max. 6 students.  Each student will have a chance to sing with the mic and Terri will be able to give you feedback during the workshop.  *Students are required to provide their own backing track during the workshops.


About Terri Oliver
In 1999 Terri moved from Nova Scotia to Toronto.  Since then she has been busy working as a singer/songwriter, recording artist and actor.  She has performed on many of the world’s stages including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand, performing alongside international artists such as James Brown, Meshell Ndegeocello, Parliament, Nelly Furtado and Jacksoul.

2004 proved to be amazing year for Terri, when she co-wrote X-Quisite's top 10 hit Sassy Thang which became the No. 1 most requested song on many of Canada's largest radio stations. On Canadian radio station CHR-hitradio, it peaked at No. 3, behind Avril Lavigne, going on to be the ninth most played Canadian song of 2004.  Two of Terri's songs, Sassy Thang and Colors, were chosen for Degrassi's fourth season episode Modern Love. X-Quisite received a Juno nomination.

In 2010-11, Terri spent 6 months performing at the Penninsula Hotel's Salon de Ning.  She has performed at many exclusive private parties including the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL Team), the Toronto Raptors (NBA Team), and wrap parties for Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt.  Last November, Terri was asked to sing at a very special event where Al Gore was the guest speaker.

Workshop 3: Saturday 10th March              4 – 5:30pm

Fee for each workshop: $500
Students are most welcome to join more than one. 
All enrollments are on a first-come, first-served basis.
