Starting Wednesday 2nd April then every Wednesday evening, 6-8pm throughout April and May.

Auditions

They are quick and easy - the ability to read music isn't essential - just enthusiasm and a good ear for a tune. They are more an opportunity for Matthew to meet you and see what voice you have (soprano or alto).

About Kassia Youth Choir

The choir for 13-18 year old girls was formed in September 2004 with a performance of Broadway Babes at the Helena May under the baton of Emma Arney. They have since gone on to perform Dazzled By Disney at the HK Fringe Club, Raising The Roof with Kassia Women's Choir and the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Under their new conductor Matthew Hale, they have performed 9 original concerts and performed at many functions across Hong Kong. Christmas Concerts include - 2005: Christmas Cracker at Hong Kong City Hall with Kassia Women's Choir, 2006: Heavensent at Union Church, 2007: Sing the World Around at Union Church.

Other concerts include Miss Sixties, A Night at the Movies, at the Sheung Wan Civic Centre. Diva's in Training at The Fringe Club.

The choir meets weekly during term time and sings a variety of musical styles. They are always happy to welcome new singers - experience is not necessary, just enthusiasm and the ability to hold a tune!

Special Projects

Because of the success of Miss Sixties, Kassia Youth Choir made their first TV appearance performing a medley of songs from Miss Sixties on the Community Chest Charity Show, televised live on TVB Jade.

Not only did all involved perform fantastically but their section of entertainment on the show raised the most amount of money for Charity out of all the celebrity acts that night! A fantastic achievement and recognition of the quality of the performance and of the commitment showed by all involved.

Kassia Youth Choir invited back to TVB!

Yet again because of the great work we put into Heaven sent, we were invited back to TVB to perform on their Christmas Music Awards show. The program showcased some of the leading vocal artistes in Hong Kong today performing their greatest hits of 2006. Performers included - Eason Chan, Joey Yung, Denise Ho to name just a few. The choir performed a medley to close the show with up and coming new stars like Jill.

2007 was a great year for Kassia Youth Choir. Out first concert of the year A Night At The Movies at Sheung Wan Civic Centre set a new record with our highest audience attendence. It was also our most innovative concert to date with many different lighting effects, dance routines, drama and of course lots of beautiful singing! Our success continued after with our outstanding performance in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Raising The Roof 2007 with the other Kassia Choirs and some special guests. Kassia Youth Choir help launch Operation Santa Claus 2007!

Our continued success and unique brand meant we were invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the South China Morning Post RTHK Operation Santa Claus Campaign 2007. The Youth choir performed a short programme of Christmas music in front of VIP guests and government officials whilst holding lanterns reflecting the charities and organisations that would benefit from the appeal. Whilst there, they met up with up and coming Canto pop star Janice and also soon to be elected Legco representative Anson Chan.
